Undergraduate applications go through UCAS. Apply by 14 January 2026 to be considered equally; after 30 June applications go to Clearing. Postgraduate deadlines are set by each university and are often rolling.

Which intake should I apply for?
The main intake (February in Australia/New Zealand, September in the UK, Ireland and Canada, Fall in the USA, October in Germany) has the widest choice of courses, scholarships and student support, so most students should target it. Secondary intakes are useful if you miss the main one or need more time to prepare your documents or English test.
How far ahead should I start my application?
Begin 8–12 months before your intended intake. That gives you time to sit your English test, shortlist and apply to universities, receive offers, arrange finances, and complete your visa — which itself can take several weeks to a few months depending on the country and your profile.
What is the UCAS deadline for 2026 entry in the UK?
For most undergraduate courses the equal-consideration deadline is 14 January 2026 at 6pm UK time. Oxford and Cambridge, and most medicine, dentistry and veterinary courses, close earlier on 15 October 2025. Applications after 30 June 2026 go into Clearing.
Can I still apply after the deadline?
Often yes, but with fewer options. Many universities keep accepting applications until courses fill, and the UK has Clearing after 30 June. Applying late can mean less course choice, tighter visa timelines and fewer scholarships — so treat published deadlines as targets, not the last possible moment.
