Is ConsultancyCheck free for consultancies?
Yes. Every consultancy listed on ConsultancyCheck has a free profile that shows verified student reviews, your rating, and your basic information. You can claim your free profile at any time with no cost.
How do I claim my consultancy's profile?
Find your profile by searching on ConsultancyCheck, then click "Claim This Profile." We'll send a verification link to your business email address. Once verified, you'll have access to your Agency Portal where you can update your profile and respond to reviews.
My consultancy isn't listed yet. How do I get added?
Email us at business@consultancycheck.com with your consultancy name, city, country, and website. We'll add your profile within 2 business days. Alternatively, students can also submit a review which will create your profile automatically.
Can I have multiple branches or offices listed?
Yes. Each city location can have its own profile. Contact us at business@consultancycheck.com to set up multiple branch profiles under the same agency account.
How does ConsultancyCheck verify reviews?
Every review requires email verification before it goes live. When a student submits a review, we send a verification link to their email address. The review stays hidden until they click the link. We do not publish unverified reviews.
Can I respond to reviews?
Yes — once your profile is claimed and verified, you can post a public response to any review. We encourage constructive responses. Your reply appears directly below the student's review and is visible to all visitors.
Can I ask my students to leave reviews?
Absolutely. We encourage consultancies to share their ConsultancyCheck profile link with satisfied clients. You can direct students to consultancycheck.com/write-a-review. You may not incentivise reviews or ask students to leave only positive reviews — doing so violates our review integrity policy.
What if I believe a review is fake or unfair?
You can flag any review for investigation via your Agency Portal. Our team reviews every flag and will remove reviews that violate our guidelines (e.g. reviews from non-clients, reviews containing false information, or reviews that are clearly malicious). We do not remove reviews simply because they are negative — honest critical feedback stays.
Can I remove a negative review?
We do not remove reviews simply because they are negative. Genuine student experiences — positive or negative — form the basis of our platform's value. However, reviews that violate our guidelines (fake, abusive, or factually false) are removed after investigation. The best response to a negative review is a professional, empathetic public reply.
How is my overall rating calculated?
Your overall rating is the average of all verified reviews. Sub-ratings (visa success, communication, value for money, transparency) are shown separately on your profile. There is no weighting or paid boost applied — every verified review counts equally.
What does "Verified" status mean?
A Verified consultancy has completed identity verification with ConsultancyCheck and paid the annual verification fee ($249/year). Verified profiles display a blue ✔ Verified badge, appear higher in search results, can respond to reviews, and get access to analytics about their profile views and enquiries.
How do I get Verified?
Claim your free profile first, then upgrade from your Agency Portal. The verification process takes 1–2 business days. We verify your business registration, physical address, and that you are authorised to represent the consultancy.
Is the $249/year fee worth it?
The Verified badge signals credibility to students who are actively comparing consultancies. Verified profiles appear first in country and city searches, and students consistently tell us they prefer to contact agencies with verified status. If your profile receives meaningful traffic, the conversion uplift typically covers the fee many times over.
What happens if I don't renew my Verified status?
Your profile remains active and retains all its reviews. The Verified badge is removed and your search ranking returns to standard. You can re-subscribe at any time.
What information can I update on my profile?
Verified consultancies can update their agency description, contact details, website URL, the countries and destinations they specialise in, and their logo. Free profiles display information as submitted by students until claimed.
Can I hide my profile or opt out of ConsultancyCheck?
Any consultancy can request removal from the platform by emailing business@consultancycheck.com. We will process removal requests within 5 business days. Note that existing reviews are part of the public record and are not automatically deleted when a profile is removed.
Can I see who is viewing my profile?
Verified consultancies have access to basic analytics in the Agency Portal: profile views over time, how students found your profile, and which cities or countries your visitors are from. We do not share individual visitor identities.
Does ConsultancyCheck take a commission on student enquiries?
No. We never charge commissions on student enquiries or placements. Our revenue comes from Verified status subscriptions only. This is intentional — commission models create conflicts of interest between recommending the best consultancy and the highest-paying one.
Can I advertise on ConsultancyCheck?
We do not sell advertising placements or paid rankings. The only way to appear higher in search results is to earn more verified reviews and upgrade to Verified status. This keeps the platform trustworthy for students.
