I want to share my personal experience so others don’t fall into the same situation I did. I applied to study in France through Study Connect Nepal, and honestly, it turned out to be a bad decision. It was my first time applying abroad, so I trusted their guidance completely. At first, the counselor seemed helpful—they provided several college options and encouraged me to apply to multiple institutions. However, problems started appearing with every college application. At the time, I didn’t realize this might be part of a pattern. Looking back, I feel like I was being guided in a way that benefited the consultancy more than me. Eventually, they pushed me toward Collège de Paris – Ascencia Business School and strongly recommended that I take French language classes through their own consultancy. I followed everything they said and paid all the required charges. Later, I found out that this institution does not have a strong reputation in France and mainly provides certificates rather than widely recognized degrees. This was never clearly explained to me beforehand. After completing all my documents and preparing for VFS submission, just one day before the process, they suddenly called me to their office and told me not to apply now, suggesting I wait another 6 months. This was shocking and frustrating because everything had already been finalized. I refused their suggestion and went directly to their main office in Kamaladi to speak with the owner. Instead of taking responsibility, he avoided the issue and spoke in a dismissive manner. That experience made the situation even more disappointing and disrespectful. Overall, I feel misled and poorly guided throughout the entire process. My advice to anyone planning to study abroad: please do your own research and don’t rely completely on consultancies. If you are being pushed toward Collège de Paris or asked to take services only through the consultancy, be extra cautious. This was a tough lesson for me, and I hope others can avoid going through the same experience.
