What Is the UK Student Route Visa?
The UK Student Route visa (formerly Tier 4) allows international students aged 16 and over to study a full-time course at a licensed UK student sponsor. It replaced the old Tier 4 visa in October 2020 and is one of the most common UK visa categories.

£20,000 (tuition) + £9,207 (9 months outside London) = £29,207 in their account
### 3. English Language Proficiency
You must demonstrate English ability at B2 level or above on the CEFR scale. Accepted tests include:
- IELTS (Academic)
- TOEFL iBT
- PTE Academic
- Cambridge Advanced (CAE/CPE)
Minimum scores vary by university — your offer letter will specify what is required.
### 4. Tuberculosis (TB) Test
If you are from a country where TB testing is required (includes India, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Philippines, and others), you must have a TB test from an approved clinic before applying.
### 5. Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS)
If your course involves certain advanced technology or scientific subjects (particularly at postgraduate level), you may need an ATAS certificate before applying. Your university will advise you if this applies.
